About Us

In 1963 this church came into existance not as a result of a mother church taking the initiative to establish a branch Sabbath School or a company, but as a result of a handful of members, approximately 12 from the Chiswick and the then New Gallery Churches.

Their desire was for deeper fellowship and united worship which were lacking elsewhere. They include Bro & Sis Carty, Bro & Sis Chamberlain, Bro & Sis Stewart, Sis Leard, Sis Lewis, & Sis Miller & family. The number grew steadily. For 4 years they worshiped in members homes, various school halls and the Tubbs Road Church of God Hall.
After 4 years they grew to company status.
On January 22nd 1967 at the Tubbs Road Church of God Hall, the Harlesden Seventh Day Company organised with Bro Sydney Myers as leader of the company. The growth in membership continued. On May 4th 1968 the company with a membership of 40 members was organised into Harlesden SDA Church with 2 elders, Brothers Myers and Philpott.

Although the members were greatful for the use of the rented accomodations many limitations were imposed on the members which were rather inconvinient thus restricting growth. 10 years after our organisation into a church we purchased the St Marys School for £20,000.

Did you know that we nearly lost the building? This was due to the fact that incorrect reports were given. Some said that it was not worth the price, others said it was beyond repair. But there were those who had the vision and those who were willing to sacrifice time and money to resurrect this dead building. Theirs was the good report! With the limited resources that were available the repairs went on for more than a year.

On May 20th 1979 the church was opened and was renamed the Willesden Seventh Day Adventist Church. Surely it was a good feeling to have your own key and be in your own home and on the 31st May 1987 we had our first church dedication. In 1992 plans were made to expand the sanctuary due to constant growth in the mebership and to build a church hall for social activities. Let us count our blessings one by one. Kingsbury SDA Church was born soon after and the Andrew Memorial Day Nursery was organised and we are able to conduct our own Weddings, Baptisms, Funerals and many other functions.

Since 1967 our church has been pastored by 19 pastors, most recent of which Pastor D Boldeau.
